In the past two years, IDSA has hosted a variety of events to expose students to various professional and interdisciplinary fields.
RISD Makeathon brings together students from all majors to form groups, ideate, research, and gain hands-on experience in product development. Professionals with relevant expertise mentor and guide the students in their design process.
For the first ever Makeathon at RISD, we created a day of interdisciplinary investigation on cognitive development, risk assessment, and unstructured play into designing playtime. Participants were able to engage and collaborate under the mentorship of distinguished professionals from IDEO, Hasbro, MIT, and more.
